The ideal candidate will come from a logistics and supply chain background and will likely be a graduate from a similar discipline.  You will also be strong with excel and hopefully have had exposure to SAP or ERP.  Ideally you will also be familiar with the warehouse environment.  A quick learner is essential to this role.

The role will include such duties as: undertaking inventories in the warehouse and other storage areas on site; accompanying the UK Logistics Ops Manager on visits to suppliers; carrying out investigative work to improve the warehouse service to the manufacturing operation; work closely with senior management to improve the operation of the plant logistics function; and supervise the day to day operation of the logistics provider to ensure that they meet the required service to both internal and external customers.

Apart from being a graduate, probably of supply chain and logistics, you will also have already gained some logistics experience and the ability to work without supervision.  You must have the ability to supervise staff and be someone who can be proactive in owning daily issues to ensure resolution.
