Job Description:

To design new and innovative products for manufacturing. To be involved throughout the development process, taking a product from conception through to design, testing, approval and implementation into production.

Job Responsibilities:
Design new and innovative mechanical and/or electromechanical products that are
of high quality and cost effective to manufacture. Validate product goals and
designs against product specifications to ensure objectives are met without
ambiguity. Work within and contribute towards the estimation of project
timescales, budgets and product costs. Assist the production and QA departments
in identifying assembly methods and checks that will ensure quality throughout
the life of new products. Anticipate and highlight risks that might effect
final product quality or function, or impact on the project timeline or budget.
Monitor, record, analyse and report on new product trials and testing. Liaise
with suppliers, customers or consultants where necessary.

Job qualifications: GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English. Degree or
HND desirable

Job experience:

Essential: Proficient in product design for manufacturing, predominantly injection moulded plastic parts. A good understanding of basic engineering. The ability to work to deadlines.

Desirable: Solidworks, experience of project management
